To Mr. Smith is a video uploaded to YouTube by Chris on 26 October 2014. In the video, Chris apologizes to an eBay buyer, Mr. Smith, with whom he had done business with. Apparently, Mr. Smith was sent an 'angry' Sonichu medallion instead of a regular one after questioning Chris's expediency. After additional complaining, he eventually was issued a regular Sonichu medallion, as well as a commission. The commission, simply intended by Mr. Smith to portray him with Sonichu, instead depicted Chris's intent to pour a bucket of ice on him. Chris's quintessential eerie, puke-green camerawork is still visible, much like his previous video that month.
This video is notable in that it is the second video taken in the rental home that Chris and his mother have been living in since the house fire.
Like in the last video, Chris has chosen to play some godawful orchestrated music that sounds like it belongs in the sappy love scene of a 1950s sitcom. It's possible that this strange and out of place choice of soundtrack was added by Chris in an attempt to show sincerity and that he is genuinely sorry for being a jackass to his customer, knowing that he is generally unable to show legitimate emotion in a convincing way. Despite this, given the sloppy editing, disgusting appearance, slightly more upbeat attitude than before, lack of proper (or any) post-production, inconsistent message, and overall low quality of the video, Chris is probably being insincere and has once again been forced to apologize for his actions in the laziest possible manner. This was later proven true, as two days later after the video was posted, Chris continued to rage at eBay on his Facebook.
The video was taken down soon after upload, but fan archivists put it back up.
Summary
The video opens on a defeated, mopey Chris, apologizing to eBay buyer Mr. Smith for his antics during their transaction.
The "bucket of ice" is referring to a commission that Mr. Smith was granted due to Chris's negligence. The commission is notable for Chris's continued desecration of the Spanish language. The ice bucket simply read "heilo," a misspelled rendition of the word "hielo," which means ice.
The video concludes with typical self-deprecating Chris demeanor.
