After finally being released from jail, Chris has slowly started coming back to the internet, starting his post-jail online activity.

Pokemon GO

On 10 August 2023, reports on r/ChrisChanSonichu came in that Chris's account was active on Pokemon GO again. In one thread, a user claimed that Chris had either unfriended everyone or deleted his account; this was disputed by another user, ZeroRhapsody, who claimed that:[1]

I added Chris years ago for fun too, and I still play the game.

I just checked and they've been online today and went up to 4.9million experience, in your screenshot they are at 4.8, so Chris must be playing again, if anyone cares. It showed the most recently caught Pokémon as Scatterbug, which you can only get from saving postcards sent by other players that you are friends with.

Not sure how I feel about being 'friends’ with an incestous rapist in a children's game... may Arceus have mercy on my soul.

Just checked Pokemon Go earlier today and saw my friendship level with Chris had gone up, meaning they accepted a gift that had been sat there since I sent it. Which was a year or two ago. Checking my friends list shows that they're online. Chris Chan is free?

Later that day, user MrCatalina reported that Chris sent him a Pokémon GO raid request. Screenshots were provided indicating Chris's location as being in Big Island, VA, at the post office. According to MrCatalina, he joined the event then quit, therefore wasting Chris's raid pass.[3]

On 11 August 2023, Chris apparently changed his friend code in the game. A user who was friends with Chris in the game reported being unable to find either his main or his alternate account, believing Chris to have deleted the accounts. ZeroRhapsody commented:[4]

They've not deleted their account, but their friend code has simply been changed at some point. (It's easy to change your friend code in this game). Maybe they deleted you at some point as well.

I am still friends with Chris on the game and the account was visible as 'online' earlier today. They have 5.1 million experience, up from 4.8 a day or two ago. So Chris is definitely still playing it.

On 13 August, Chris accepted some gifts in-game from a fellow player. The other player posted a screenshot of the activity in a Reddit post two days later. The Reddit post was deleted but the screenshot was saved.

Nintendo Switch

On 10 August 2023, Chris was seen online, with a New Mii profile icon, and playing Pokémon and Sonic games which had been released during his stay in Central Virginia Regional Jail.

On 11 August 2023, users on r/ChrisChanSonichu reported that Chris's Switch profile was no longer visible, possibly the result of a changed friend code.[5]

On 12 August 2023, about four months after his release from jail, Chris changed his PSN profile description from "I am Christine. <3" to "I'm Christ Chan Prime" to reflect the revelation he made while in jail.[6] If Chris is using "Prime" in the same way he used it when referring to Sonichu as "Sonichu Prime" (meaning the first and most important Sonichu), then Chris is possibly referring to himself as the most important incarnation of Jesus Christ, which is debatable.

On the same day, a screenshot of Chris leaving a PlayStation chat was posted to r/ChrisChanSonichu by user lambda115.[7] With zero context or other potential messages being added with the screenshot, it was assumed that this was Chris saying that Sonichu (the character) had left, though the OP clarified that this was just Chris, whose username on PSN is "Sonichu", leaving the chat.[8]

Twitter

On 16 August 2023, Chris began liking tweets on his CPU_CWCSonichu account. The first was a comic about My Little Pony and the second about the drink GFuel.[9][10]

Hours later, Chris liked several more tweets, including one showing art by the enabler Helena Fiorenza on Chris being back online.[11]

A few more hours later, Chris liked another tweet from more enablers offering fanart and welcoming him back to the internet.[12][13]

On the 17th, Chris likes some more tweets including more "welcome back" fanart and art of someone's bisexual My Little Pony OC, along with a comic about My Little Pony characters looking at each other's asses. [14][15][16]

On the 18th, Chris is still actively liking tweets.

On the 19th, Chris's Twitter activity skyrockets as he likes twelve tweets in one day. The liked tweets range from posts about a romance book series called "The Jane Austen Series", a tweet complaining about the new "X" app icon, a meme about missing out on "teen love", an ad for a new shoe that's "one for the furries", the standard My Little Pony post, and an ad for a collaboration between G-Fuel and Genshin Impact.[17][18][19][20][21][22]

Later in the day, Chris likes five more posts, mainly more My Little Pony fanart, along with a tweet about furries going to furry convention.[23][24]

On 23 August 2023, Chris dumped a large amount of artwork, including two new drawings, previously-unreleased art drawn during his stay at Central Virginia Regional Jail, many of his old custom Twilight Sparkle's Secret Shipfic Folder cards, and several newly-colored Sonichu 15 (renamed to Sonichu 0 HD) comic pages, onto NightStarRosechu2891, an account he had held for five years without announcement.[25]
