I have learned about Chris sometime in 2013, and have later watched [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=49f5wxX7vSY The Best of Chris-Chan, Vol. 1]. I was roughly 14 years old at the time. The first Chris Chan video that I have ever watched was one where [[100 2277|Chris cosplays as Fred Flintstone]] while singing the theme song in his shrill voice. I hadn't really paid much attention to his whole story until about 2 or 3 years later when I began lurking on the CWCki, and later getting an account both here and on the Kiwi Farms in 2017, right around when the [[DoopieDoOver|Doopie Saga]] was reaching its climax. In the meantime, I would watch a Chris Chan video here and there.

I would be an on-and-off Christorian for the following years, especially from 2019 to 2020 when Chris content just became Chris's fantasies being manipulated by the latest failtroll of the week, Chris was mostly a rambling hippie, and most new content had happened behind closed curtains. Enablers differ from weens in that they avoid making poor attempts to annoy Chris, instead focusing on ingratiating themselves to him, with various intents, with the invariable effect of furthering his delusions.

The long answers is a bit more complicated. Chris' grip on what is real and what is being fed to him has decreased over the years, to such an extent that he is nearly incapable of distingishing seemingly even what ideas come from his head and what came from others. A prime example of this is Sockness, who used fictional dialogue between various characters between Chris' characters and his own imaginary pantheon. Chris fully believed that this dialogue was legitimate and expressed that he had heard it himself.

This argument is most common among the more white knight or social-justice oriented crowd. Those who take this approach see Chris as a victim of the "alt-right trolls" or whatever villain of the week has been created to oppress them. As such, to them Chris is a beautiful, unique creature who is to be coddled and praised, regardless of the merit of that praise. Often this praise will be sycophantic in nature, with constant praise of Chris' artistic ability and creative genius. Another other common narrative is that Chris is a grown adult who is perfectly capable of taking care of himself, easily separating the wheat from the chaff in regards to orbiters. As the years have passed Chris' mental state has deteriorated from fantasy-prone to complete detachment from reality. Chris has become extremely delusional to such an extent that he believes he is married to a purple Sonic recolor as part of a polyamorous, is a goddess with psychic powers, and has a religious following. If you play into Chris' delusions in order to help him '''You are only making things worse.''' When a person has deluded themselves into a belief that is potentially harmful to themselves and others, the best thing to do is not to reinforce said delusion, but rather to get the person professional help.
 
Chris also no longer believes in basic scientific principles, especially in the the biological department, and already believes himself to completely understand the difference between what is real and what is fictional.<ref>https://twitter.com/CPU_CWCSonichu/status/1205200341677084673</ref> He believes that all diseases are a result of extreme stress, and that by being psychically connected to a virus, he can completely obliterate whatever ails him. Therefore, it is also not advisable to enable Chris due to it being a legitimate danger not only for his psyche, but also for his own body. For example, when Chris got a cold on December 2019, he believed that the primary reason for this was due to how he was triggered by the redesigns of his Sonichu characters by [[ProjectSNT]]. If Chris gets inflicted with a disease, he will tell himself that said illnesses simply arised from his emotions and disturbances from other dimensions. To continuously try and enable him with these beliefs, you are putting Chris at a risk of suffering even worse ailment without the proper care or treatment. Thus, you are putting Chris' life in danger.

What several enablers don't seem to realize is that most of the fun of watching Chris comes from the unusual way he responds to people and events himself. Rarely does interacting with him yourself create the same effect as him getting angry over [[Sonic Boom|a minor character alteration]] or getting irrationally mad at a nonexistent enemy. In the past, some of the best Chris content has come from his own head and actions. In fact, by enabling Chris, you are doing the exact opposite of what triggers the best of Chris by giving him what he wants or further confirming him and lulling him into a sense of complacency where he is less likely to produce meaningful and/or entertaining content. Chris will always try to get what he wants, whether or not it's good for him.

If Chris' many sagas have proven anything, it's that he is a gullible numbskull that will never learn from his past mistakes. As much as some people take enabling Chris for granted these days, you must remember that even before the Idea Guys, manipulating Chris was never a new or groundbreaking tactic. Confirming his beliefs is just a different means of manipulating, much like posing as a potential sweetheart. As a matter of fact, it's one of the earliest methods of trolling. All it really takes is to pretend to give Chris what he wants, or to confirm a belief he holds dearly, regardless of whether or not you truly feel that way.
 
A partially forgotten example of this is [[BlueSpike]] roleplaying as Julie. BlueSpike was able to use Chris for his own own entertainment solely by pretending to be another sweetheart, but one that for once wants to get into Chris' pants if he pays a few favors.
 
Think about it, if Chris will just believe anything you tell him that easily, sees no problems with being manipulated so long as you act [[Chris and kindness|kind]] to him, and only sees every enabler as a means to confirm his own crazy theories, do you really think that enabling him will make you the next trolling sensation? The bottom line is that much like weening, enabling Chris doesn't make you stand out from anyone else that's tried to do so, and it can come off as desperate to gain 15 minutes of Internet fame.

The confidence built by playing make-believe with Chris has been abused several times. Sarah and Steve, Multidimensional White Knights and Jacob Sockness would all get their foot in the door by affirming Chris's beliefs, in some instances pretending to channel fictional characters from other dimensions, and then betray that trust for their own entertainment. Onlookers from Kiwi Farms and the CWCki itself have watched white knights reveal themselves in fact to be weens many times before. The CWCommunity at large treats weens without mercy. Even if you are not like the many traitors in recent Christory, it is impossible to get through to Chris any longer without deceiving him, and such guile is not looked upon favourably. Others have poisoned the well before you. You will be assumed to be acting in bad faith if you try to influence Chris for any reason, and treated accordingly.
 
===If you go far enough, it can come off as just plain depraved===
 
Out of all of the four groups represented in the Unholy Tetrad, enablers can arguably be considered the absolute worst in certain cases. Just like with A-logging, the biggest reason of all for why you shouldn't enable Chris is the legal liability. For some enablers, enabling Chris is more than just a game to mess with his comics. It can get to the point where they realize they can use his gullibility as a tool to do such malicious things to himself. Some can even tell him to go as far as telling him to commit abuse to both himself, and to other people. If this is to show you anything about enabling Chris, it's that much like in the case of A-Logging, if you go far enough with this practice, ''you'' will become the villain, rather than the funniest guy in the lunchroom.
 
Alternatively, even if you have good intentions and a desire to help Chris, this way of "helping Chris" is ironically one of the most harmful things you can do. By reinforcing the delusional state of a mentally ill person, you are doing nothing but make his life worse.

[[Self-inflicted taint wound|yuck]], Chris does have a soft side, and he is not afraid to show it. As of recently, he will more often than not be motivated to act '''kind''' towards other people, even towards complete strangers. Due to his [[autism]] and upbringing making it difficult to empathize with others, these attempts are often awkward and occasionally cross the line to disrespect.
 
Despite this, it is not difficult to scratch the surface of his kindness to uncover his previous self.

My History with Chris-Chan

I have learned about Chris sometime in 2013, and have later watched The Best of Chris-Chan, Vol. 1. I was roughly 14 years old at the time. The first Chris Chan video that I have ever watched was one where Chris cosplays as Fred Flintstone while singing the theme song in his shrill voice.
