For the third quote, the one under the "Rationalization" heading-- where is that from? What specific act did he perform that needed to be apologized for? Sygerrik 16:10, 4 November 2009 (CET)
- Sorry, forgot to add the link to that one. Anyways, that was Chris almost apologizing for trying to trick Kacey into coming to his house by impersonating Liquid.--Beat 16:28, 4 November 2009 (CET)
Maybe mention his lack of shame regarding all the leaks on the net? Most people would have disappeared long ago. JohnnyA 16:39, 4 November 2009 (CET)
- I think that really demonstrates a lack of shame more than a lack of remorse.--Beat 05:08, 5 November 2009 (CET)
- Yeah, I just thought maybe you could tie it in. JohnnyA 05:35, 5 November 2009 (CET)
Maybe also mention how he only apologized to The Game Place because he wanted to buy some Eye of Judgment cards. --Sack Thaddic 18:36, 4 November 2009 (CET)
Is there an E-mail or something that backs that up? If there is it would be excellent evidence that Chris only issues apologies when you have something he wants.Granted, the thing he usually wants is China.--Beat 05:08, 5 November 2009 (CET)- DISREGARD THAT I SUCK COCKS. One of these days I'll learn to search before I talk. --Beat 05:13, 5 November 2009 (CET)
"Never mind that no mentally healthy adult human actually behaves this way, at least not in public view." (regarding the April 16 Fetish Vids) Far be it for me to defend the inbred, self-important manchild, but 1) I'd sure as shit do all that for a girl and fuck you if you say the majority of you wouldn't, and 2) he didn't do it in public view—the video was released without his knowledge or consent. I don't want to go all moralfag and I really don't give a shit if people want to publish lies and half-truths to piss him off, but this even contradicts the explanation in the entry that "[t]he footage was released by the miscreants on 16 April 2009." —Thepicklesuitintheman 23:25, 15 November 2009 (CET)
- You would take a video of yourself wearing a diaper, while alone in your room just to appease some chick? Damn dude. What the hell kind of girls are you into?--Beat 22:39, 16 December 2009 (CET)
- He's got a point, though. Chris never intended for the videos to be shown publicly, it wasn't like he posted them directly to YouTube for all to see. -Needlepants 06:09, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Line removed. and now that I've taken this bold step in not offending diaper perverts, I'm wondering why none of the people who actually cared changed it. This is a wiki, you know.--Beat 16:52, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
Autism and remorse
It's actually a common trait of autism to lack empathy, which is why someone who is autistic would have trouble showing remorse. This should be noted in the article. Otherwise, decent article - I was afraid this was going to be an armchair psychology article with whoever started this article's opinions on why Chris is fucked up but it actually documents pretty well the major occasions Chris has lacked empathy. --Champthom 19:16, 7 November 2009 (CET)
- I need to do some serious cleaning up in this article. I'll be sure to mention those points. --Beat 19:31, 12 November 2009 (CET)
I'm no expert, but should it be said that there's a difference between empathy and compassion? According to my understanding (brace for tl;dr): empathy is understanding what others are thinking and feeling at that moment, whereas compassion is caring about other beings. One could not have much empathy, in that they cannot perceive/understand what another person is thinking or feeling; but they could also be compassionate in that they truly do not wish to hurt other people, despite being "clumsy" emotionally. Naturally, Chris has neither. --06:09, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Going by that, Chris would at least be somewhat compassionate. It's not too far-fetched to think that Chris truly likes his parents, his pets, and his sweethearts (mostly Megan), albeit in his own awkwardly-expressed way. Those strange ways are magnified by his utter lack of empathy. Think of the bull in the china shop, if the bull was just stuck with a stock prod. --Schuzrum Dias 06:29, 30 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm Sorry, Now Give Me Money
What the fuck? Is that for real?! My god, he threatens to kill, then wants to swindle her out of money? My GOD! --Blazer 04:25, 15 November 2009 (CET)
- I'm pretty sure Vivian wouldn't lie about this sort of thing. --Beat 04:29, 15 November 2009 (CET)
- So typical of Chris. This is not the last one we will see. He will ask for his share of profit over anything produced with the name of Sonichu. Besides, we all know what "Sorry" means for him:"Forget what I have done and give me stuff!". I wonder if I had some sympathies left for the Man-child before I saw this. Now I know (none). Griffintown 04:48, 15 November 2009 (CET)
- Oh, I know she wouldn't, but still, I'm surprised Chris would go so far as to use extortion! --Blazer 05:02, 15 November 2009 (CET)
- I don't believe it was supposed to be extortion - Chris had no actual power in that situation and doesn't seem to think about consequences or how one pattern of behaviour links to another. I would guess that the death threats and asking for money were completely separate acts to be looked at independently of each other. In Chris's eyes, at least. I apologised, so it never happened. - Liquid! 21:29, 31 January 2010 (UTC)
Antisocial personality disorder
I have a feeling that Chris suffers from antisocial personality disorder, whose diagnosis criteria detail many of the characteristics that Chris exhibits.
The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fourth edition, DSM V, a widely used manual for diagnosing mental disorders, defines antisocial personality disorder (in Axis II Cluster B) as:
The essential features of a personality disorder are impairments in personality (self and interpersonal) functioning and the presence of pathological personality traits. To diagnose antisocial personality disorder, the following criteria must be met:
1. Impairments in self functioning (a or b): a. Identity: Ego-centrism; self-esteem derived from personal gain, power, or pleasure. b. Self-direction: Goal-setting based on personal gratification; absence of prosocial internal standards associated with failure to conform to lawful or culturally normative ethical behavior. AND 2. Impairments in interpersonal functioning (a or b): a. Empathy: Lack of concern for feelings, needs, or suffering of others; lack of remorse after hurting or mistreating another. b. Intimacy: Incapacity for mutually intimate relationships, as exploitation is a primary means of relating to others, including by deceit and coercion; use of dominance or intimidation to control others.
1. Antagonism, characterized by: a. Manipulativeness: Frequent use of subterfuge to influence or control others; use of seduction, charm, glibness, or ingratiation to achieve one's ends. b. Deceitfulness: Dishonesty and fraudulence; misrepresentation of self; embellishment or fabrication when relating events. c. Callousness: Lack of concern for feelings or problems of others; lack of guilt or remorse about the negative or harmful effects of one's actions on others; aggression; sadism. d. Hostility: Persistent or frequent angry feelings; anger or irritability in response to minor slights and insults; mean, nasty, or vengeful behavior.
a. Irresponsibility: Disregard for – and failure to honor – financial and other obligations or commitments; lack of respect for – and lack of follow through on – agreements and promises. b. Impulsivity: Acting on the spur of the moment in response to immediate stimuli; acting on a momentary basis without a plan or consideration of outcomes; difficulty establishing and following plans. c. Risk taking: Engagement in dangerous, risky, and potentially self-damaging activities, unnecessarily and without regard for consequences; boredom proneness and thoughtless initiation of activities to counter boredom; lack of concern for one's limitations and denial of the reality of personal danger.
D. The impairments in personality functioning and the individual's personality trait expression are not better understood as normative for the individual‟s developmental stage or sociocultural environment. E. The impairments in personality functioning and the individual's personality trait expression are not solely due to the direct physiological effects of a substance (e.g., a drug of abuse, medication) or a general medical condition (e.g., severe head trauma). F. The individual is at least age 18 years. |

Chris and improvement
I was thinking about possibly adding a section to this article about Chris' current willingness to improve on his character, as well as his apologies to people he previously wronged. I also feel that some of the information regarding his apologies could fit into the "Chris and kindness" article. If there is too much information regarding this topic, we should probably make it into a new article called "Chris and improvement" - PsychoNerd054
- Improvement? Chris? I don't know what standards you're going by, but the whole time I've watched Chris he's only gotten worse rather than better. In minor, technical ways his art got better from Issue 0 to Issue 1 but as for his politics and attitude he just seems more sickly and lethargic, not meaningfully 'better' in any way. Going from homophobic redneck to "lesbian" "transwoman" LGBT rights type is a lateral move at best. Nathan (talk) 08:02, 26 January 2018 (UTC)
- I never really said that Chris was improving. In fact, I don't think Chris is really getting better, at least not by a whole lot, I'm thinking more about adding info regarding his willingness to getting better at life in this article, and explaining all the ways he fails at it. If you don't know what I'm talking about, a few very good examples of this behavior can be illustrated in the Bryanfrogboy article, where he legit feels sorry for everything he ever did over a comic. - PsychoNerd054
- Are either of you guys completely sure he hasn't improved? What about his decrease in rage? While it's not completely gone and while the possible reasons for the lack of rage isn't clear, I think it's more than a minor insignificant improvement, since anger was one of Chris's most self-destructive flaws, as seen in examples such as the Encyclopedia Dramatica drama leading to the public posting of ShecameforCWC.JPEG and anger toward Liquid Chris impersonating him leading to him impersonating him back to make Kacey his sweetheart.
