Mewgenics is a tactical role-playing roguelike life simulation video game developed by Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel. Due to the game's co-creator Edmund McMillen being a carpetbagger and friend of Chris, it allowed Chris to do voice acting work for the game and have his character Sonichu explicitly mentioned and referenced in the game. Chris was involved with creating artwork for the Mewgenics comic, and later teased his involvement with the game itself in the months leading up to its Steam release on 10 February 2026.

Chris, along with other select people, were mailed a package of promotional Mewgenics items and merchandise shortly before the game came out. Chris made a video unboxing it, though had to reupload it twice due to accidentally revealing info such as Edmund's private email meant only for special people to request a free copy of the game on Steam. Though Chris did have a brief meltdown,[1] his mistake seemingly had no effect on their collaboration or friendship. Chris, along with a long list of other notable Internet figures including Liquid Chris and Geno Samuel, are in the game's credits for contributing voice lines of meowing.

Giveaway

Chris participated in a game giveaway when the game was released.[2] Chris's performance in the giveaway was sloppy - appropriating a different participant's giveaway image,[3] forgetting to announce the winners, and a week after he did, one winner alleged to have not received the game.[4]

"Redemption Arc"

Chris's role in the game sparked controversy due to Edmund allowing Chris to collaborate despite his incest charges. This caused a resurgence in accusations of Chris being a rapist, causing Chris to insist that he was going through a "redemption arc".
