Finland is a northern European country which borders Russia, Norway and Sweden. Its capital city is Helsinki. Chris has visited on at least two occasions, marking his first trip outside of the United States.
In October 2023, Chris joined the language learning app Duolingo, where he heavily focused on learning Finnish.
In April 2024, Chris and Flutter were spotted in Finland shopping at Arabia Kauppakeskus, although this sighting was not revealed until October.[1] Chris was subsequently spotted in an airport in Dallas, Texas on 24 May 2024,[2] wearing the same coat, suggesting he had returned from Finland.
On 27 September 2024, Chris was spotted in Helsinki by a store employee who leaked a cropped still from the security camera to a co-worker.[3] Locals believe the sighting was at the Mall of Tripla, in a store named Normal.[4] The following day, Chris and Flutter were spotted walking at the Mall of Tripla, by an observer who took a brief video clip.[5] In both sightings, Chris is wearing a bright blue Superdry sweater with the hood up.
A popular theory is that Flutter may be of Finnish descent; she and Chris began interacting during the Jail Saga and Chris began learning Finnish on Duolingo afterwards. To date, Chris has remained secretive about his interest in Finland and has avoided making public comments.
