Metonic is some dumb evolution of Sonichu from the future. Seen in Classic Strips. According to an Animal Crossing card in the scrapbook, Sonichu evolves into Metonic by being traded while holding a Metal Coat. Since in the canon future of Sonichu, Sonichu has indeed become Metonic, this implies that at some point Christian traded Sonichu away.
