Sonichu + Metal Coat + Trade = Metonic
Metonic evolves from Sonichu by being traded while holding a Metal Coat. His armor adds weight, so he can't do a Spin Dash. But his speed stays the same, and his spikes are diamond sharp.
Metonic Animal Crossing card

Metonic is some dumb evolution of Sonichu from the future. Seen in Classic Strips. According to an Animal Crossing card in the scrapbook, Sonichu evolves into Metonic by being traded while holding a Metal Coat.

Since in the canon future of Sonichu, Sonichu has indeed become Metonic, this implies that Chris will be remarkably successful in using Pokémon trading tricks: not only will he find someone to perform a back-and-forth evolution trade (it was fairly common in old Pokémon games to send the traded Pokémon back again after the evolution trade), but this person will indeed not be a troll who yanks off the cable and runs away, grinning like a loon, with Chris's Metonic on their cart.

In Chris + Sarah's Life-Shares, adults are portrayed as Metonics and Vamprosas for absolutely no reason. It could be that, much like how Sonee and Rosey are generally used by Chris to symbolize people that are younger than he is at the time being, Metonic(and by extension Vamprosa) are his perception of his elders.

Spin Dash

Apparently he can't do one. Call da police. Taking all the armor off (as well as that goddamn archaic sword) would probably help no end with this.

So, what's the difference between Metonic and a Sonichu wearing armor?

Metonic has spiky ears.
