Edmund McMillen is a game developer behind titles such as Super Meat Boy, The Binding of Isaac, Tapeworm, and Mewgenics. In his association with Chris, he is a carpetbagger who collaborated with Chris and included his artwork within Isaac and Mewgenics.
He and Chris mutually follow each other on Twitter (as of August 2025), and he has also referenced Chris while promoting other projects. In May 2020, he held livestreams regarding his upcoming card game Tapeworm, and within the background, a framed photograph of Chris can be seen.[2] On one of the streams from 19 May, he displayed a medallion he had bought from Chris and answered a fan's question on his favorite saga, saying he didn't know but that it was probably the beginning stuff where Chris was making comics and challenging the world over them.[3]
Edmund commissioned Chris to create artwork for a card in The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, which was revealed on 17 June 2021.[4] It was then cancelled after Chris's incest scandal came to light,[5] although three years later, Edmund again expressed interest in releasing the card.[6]
According to Edmund, Chris kept in contact and sent him many letters from jail.[7] None of these letters have been released. He also received Jail Letter Gifts from Chris.[8]
Edmund personally gifted Chris a physical copy of The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ for the Nintendo Switch, and he played the game during a livestream in February 2024.[9] Chris also owns Super Meat Boy and Super Meat Boy Forever on his Switch,[10] but it's uncertain whether or not they were also personally gifted to him.
On 31 July 2025, Edmund debuted his Mewgenics comic at the Gen Pop convention.[11] A few days later, a fan noticed that Chris had collaborated on the comic and uploaded a photo of the page online.[12] On 9 January 2026, Chris teased his involvement with Mewgenics on Twitter with a winking emoji.[13] On 12 January, Edmund tweeted a picture of himself with Chris's scrapped artwork for The Binding of Isaac: Four Souls, which Chris soon retweeted.[14]
