In August 2016, Chris discovered the YouTube Channel, Planet Dolan. After discovering DoopieDoOver's character, Chris started to take a liking for her.

Chris tries to be Empathetic
Chris first communicated with Doopie on March 7, 2017 via Twitter when she made a post about her Bipolar Disorder:
I'm trying my best to understand people. BPD makes me rather judgmental towards those who've hurt me. Their actions confuse me. |
Chris, having completely missed the point of the entire post, and having judged so many people in the past, felt somewhat empathetic for Doopie, and tried to make her feel better by comparing her mental disorder with a bunch of people she's never met on the internet:
I don't have BPD, but I can empathize with difficulty understanding hurtful people, particularly, internet trolls. I have been hurt by a number of them, as well as some people in person aside. I have felt upset and emotionally distraught. I try to keep an open heart and open mind for those who respond in kindness and compassion, as I know they are still around. Nowadays, I have put the bad people behind me, and I try to maintain a positive outlook; some success, but I still have my own mental quandaries to try resolving. Anyhow, all we can do is take life one moment at a time, and do what we each are able to do for ourselves and those we care about. <3 |
