| A quick response from the team - That's 100% intentional. The 1541 is a separate device (even though it's in the same box) and it always operates at 1MHz. This is because the timing between the disk drive and the computer must operate at 1Mhz for basically any software to work properly. |
| This is quite true. The original 1541 can be slow on loading times compared to the later models or even present tense processing speeds, it is still reliable. And that is reflected in the programming of the 1541 processor setting of the C64 Ultimate. I speak from personal experience. |
