The Bad Beginning is the name given to a nine-hour Discord chat log, which occurred between Chris, Joshua Wise and Stephen Boyd from 8 April to 9 April 2018. The chat log was later leaked by Null to Kiwi Farms on 19 July 2018.

Highlights

• Having previously manipulated Chris into believing that he is a pedophile, the Idea Guys threaten to expose Chris if he doesn't pay them $20,000.
• Wise role plays as Symphogear character Finé, Magi-Chan, and Cryzel; and Boyd as Gwen.
• Chris uploads a photo of a pickle he graffitied on his bedroom wall. Six days later, he would upload a video of him licking said wall.
• Chris shows Barb his defaced wall, which leaves her "shocked and offended."
• Chris uploads a drawing of characters mid-orgy.
• Chris goes into great detail regarding the laws of CWCville.
