January is the first month of 2023. It begins with Chris still in jail for alleged incest with his mother. A ween claimed to have made a prison visit to Chris, and Chris' case comes up for review at the end of the month.

- 4 January - According to Traineealex, Chris writes to someone, approving Traineealex as a visitor.[1]
- 5 January - Allyson K. Tysinger sends a letter to the court regarding Chris's incest case.[2]
- 9 January - Traineealex supposedly visits Chris in jail. Five days later, Traineealex posts to Reddit about his claimed jail visit, mentioning several updates on Chris, including that his hair is turning gray and that he has lost quite a bit of weight.[3]
- 22 January - Iron_Taipain takes a tour of Ruckersville and provides recent photos of 14 Branchland Court. Those same photos appear to confirm long standing rumors about Barb not being alone and the fate of Chris' toys.[4]
- 27 January
- A fourth letter is sent from the Virginia Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services to the court regarding Chris's incest case.[2]
- "Gateway Homes Information" is submitted to the court.[2]
- A review was scheduled for Chris's incest case. A continuance is the result.[5]
- Chris is sent back to custody.[2]
