The 1980s was the decade that Christian Weston Chandler was born, under the name Christopher Weston Chandler. He wouldn't change his name untill 1994. According to Chris, he had a lot of trouble growing up, and even coped with a prolonged episode of muteness. Source material referring to the 1980s is scarce, and this article is mostly based on statements done by Chris on a later age, and on image material.

1982

Events of 1982

• February 24 - Christopher Weston Chandler is born at approximately 5:30 AM, at the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Virginia.
• February 24 - Chris is brought back to the Chandler household in Ruckersville, Virgina.
• April - Cristopher allegedly speaks his first word: Monkey.
• October 13 - Sarah Hammer is born.

1983

Christian has stated that in 1983, he was abused by his babysitter, starting his autism. On other occasions, however, Chris has said said he is aware of autism being a heriditary disease, making him "getting autism" impossible. We can however assume that the abuse Christopher suffered in 1983 was traumatical.

• February 24 - Christopher's 1st birthday.
• August - Christopher's autism allegedly "begins". He claims the reason was an evil babysitter, named Roach, who locked him in a room. He becomes mute.

1984

• This year - Chris first meets his childhood friend, Sarah Hammer.
• February 24 - Christopher's 2nd birthday.

• August/September - Chris enters first grade at Greene County Primary School.

1988

• March 17 - Dog Patti born.
• August/September - Chris enters second grade at Greene County Primary School.

1989

Twenty years later, Chris himself would have a try at the Bunny Hop.

Events of 1989

• This year - Christopher starts talking again whilst reading a Gobot package.
• This year - Christopher starts attending Nathanel Greene Elementary School.
• February 24 - Christopher's 7th birthday.
• August/September - Chris enters third grade at Greene County Primary School.
• December - The English conductor of the Regency Square Bear Band, Leonard Bearstein, mistakes Christopher's name for "Christian". According to Chris, this stuck, and would inspire his name-change in 1994.
• December - The Chandler family moves from Ruckersville to Richmond.
• Christmas - Chris gets a Nintendo Game-Boy. His second gaming system.
