2004 is the year in which Chris turned 22 years old. This year saw Chris continuing his ongoing Love Quest, leading to the appearance of the first Sonichu's News Dash and its dissemination in Piedmont Virginia Community College. In turn, this also started his mythical feud with the college dean Mary Lee Walsh; Mary was worried about his practices disrupting school education and being little more than him attempting to solicit sex, but Chris was convinced she was refusing to let him find a true and honest sweetheart. Things reached a boiling point when Chris's stubborn refusal to dial back his attempts resulted in him getting arrested at and briefly banned from the local mall, and him getting suspended from college.

Things weren't all bad for Chris, though. Besides meeting Megan Schroeder in August, he took the newfound free time he had to his advantage, and at the end of this year started drawing Sonichu #0.

Events of 2004

January

• 1 January - Chris writes an entry in his diary, stating his New Year's resolution to get a girlfriend, and his intent to make another attempt at PVCC.
• 3 January - Chris draws Sonichu (Jan 3), a classic Sonichu strip. This is probably the first time Chris started writing about his creation in comic-strip form.
• 6 January - Chris reports in his diary he went to see his optometrist, who is also his half-brother, David. He finds out he needs new lenses, and that David has an eight-year-old daughter.
• 16 January - Chris sends an email to a man named John Crowll. Attached to the email is a flyer Chris made to advertise the The GAMe PLACe's Pokémon League.
• 18 January - Chris writes the poem "Hard Love Quest".
• 31 January
  • Chris writes in his diary, expressing optimism that his new idea, the Sonichu's News Dash, will attract girls.
  • Sonichu's News Dash #1 comes out. He provides a link to the newsletter on CWC's Sonichu Site!.

Febuary

• February - Sonichu's News Dash #2 comes out.
• 1 February - Chris tells Mary Lee Walsh in an email that he will not hang signs in school ever again and will put her higher on his "Scale of Respect" if she lets him distribute the News Dash.
• 2 February - Chris creates the Magi-Chan Sonichu card and the Christian Chandler card.
• 3 February - Mary Lee Walsh responds to Chris's email and denies Chris's request, and requires that they meet on 9 February.
• 9 February
  • Chris meets with Mary Lee Walsh and Susan Hannifan to discuss his behavior. He is told that he cannot distribute Sonichu's News Dash anymore on campus, and was also presumably told to stop making Attraction Signs. In response, Chris threw a temper tantrum, pretended to have Sonichu speak for him, and then proceeded to give Mary a curse-ye-ha-me-ha.
  • According to Chris in his diary, he declared war on Mary Lee Walsh, and hopes to incite the "masses" to support him. He updates his Sonichu site.
• sometime after 9 February - Chris sends an angry note to Mary Lee Walsh, which expressed his dislike of her and apparently contained a drawing of a creepy stare. This, among other factors, would become the catalyst for his suspension from college later that fall.
• 19 February - Chris starts making his "The Sonichu Chronicles" PowerPoint.
• 24 February - Chris's 22nd birthday. He gets snowed in. Chris is photographed on this date wearing his Sonichu medallion. He updates CWC's Pokésite 2.

March

• March - Sonichu's News Dash #3 comes out. The possibility of Sonichu powering up to Ultra Sonichu is announced.
• 2 March - A meeting is held between Mary Lee Walsh and the Chandler family. In his diary, Chris reported that Mary allegedly tried to influence his parents to take him out of PVCC. Chris's parents get angry.
• 18 March - Chris draws Sonichu (18 Mar), a classic Sonichu strip.

April

• April - Sonichu's News Dash #4 comes out.
• 8 April - Chris creates a Nintendo Power cover of himself and Sonichu.
• 29 April - An article about Sonichu is featured in the PVCC newsletter, The Forum. Chris writes in his diary that he is pleased but still yearns for a girlfriend.

May

• 4 May - Chris's Animal Crossing Documentary is featured in Nintendo Power.
• 8 May - Mother's Day. Chris presents Barb with a Sonichu Mother-Day's Special, a classic Sonichu strip.
• 29 May - Chris attends the Anime Mid-Atlantic convention, where he meets voice actress Monica Rial.

June

• 7 June - Chris records a documentary for the celebration of his parents' 24th anniversary.
• 13 June - Chris draws Sonichu (25 years later), a classic Sonichu strip.

July

• 17 July - Chris begins to use the Charlottesville Fashion Square Mall as an Attraction Location, using his sign.

August

• August - Chris enters his short-lived fifth year at PVCC.
• 1 August - Chris writes in his diary that he has developed a new idea to attract women, involving a red string.
• 5 August - Chris says in his diary that a Jerkop destroyed the red string of fate.
• 8 August - Chris creates his "Girlfriend Attraction" Yu-Gi-Oh! card.
• 9 August - Chris makes his "Curse-Ye-Ha-Me-Ha" Yu-Gi-Oh! card.

• 14 or 21 August - Chris meets Megan Schroeder for the first time, at his first Yu-Gi-Oh! tournament at The GAMe PLACe.

• 19 August - Chris depicts his imaginary twin sister, Crystal Weston Chandler, for the first time on a Yu-Gi-Oh! card. • 4 September
  • This date marks the 8th week Chris has spent trying to attract women at Charlottesville Fashion Square. Chris states in his diary that he "realized" holding a sign asking women to date him is akin to "selling himself like a new car".
  • Bob turns 77.
• 5 September - Chris creates his "Jerkop", "Metal Sonichu", "Silver Blachu", "Flame the Sunbird", "Bionic the Hedgehog", "Sonichu Medallion", "Fireshock Pendant", "Lightning Bracelets", "Trap of Fear" and "7 Chaos Emeralds" Yu-Gi-Oh! cards.
• 6 September - Chris writes a diary entry about his attempt to reason with a security guard at the mall. He shouted "NO!" at the guard, and believed he had intimidated the man.
• 11 September - Chris reports in his diary that he was arrested at the mall. He does not have to go to jail, but he is forbidden to return to Charlottesville Fashion Square without one of his parents.
• 16 September - Chris is suspended from PVCC for one year by "the Board". He is required to see a psychiatrist. In his diary, he blames Mary Lee Walsh. He claims Bob is planning to write to George W. Bush and Laura Bush demanding action.
• 26 September - Chris writes in his diary that he is lonely and depressed due to being denied access to the mall and PVCC. He decides to ask Santa Claus for a girlfriend.

October

• October - Chris chooses the University of Virginia campus as a new Attraction Location (but without the sign).
• October - Sonichu's News Dash #5 comes out.
• 1 October - Barb turns 63.
• 18 October - Chris writes the first draft for Story of My Current Days.

November

• early November - Chris is allowed back into Fashion Square Mall.
• 5 November - Chris receives a psychiatric evaluation from a psychiatrist at the University of Virginia. It recommends further treatment; Chris and his family ignore it.
• 24 November - Chris starts drawing his first full-sized comic.

December

• December - Chris gives up on the University of Virginia as an Attraction Location (for the time being).
• December - Sonichu's News Dash #6 comes out. Chris states that he expects a Christmas-apology from Mary Lee Walsh.
• 2 December - Chris makes the Angelica Rosechu card.
• 4 December - Chris writes the song "I Want a Girlfriend for Christmas".
• 5 December - Chris draws Sonichu (05 Dec), a classic Sonichu strip.
• 20 December - Chris records himself performing "So Need a Cute Girl" and "All I Want For Christmas Is a Pretty Girlfriend".
• 25 December - It is Christmas, and Santa doesn't bring Chris a girlfriend. He states that he is depressed. He records himself opening presents with his family, showing off his presents, and walking through his house. He also records the video ChrisAfterChristmas2004.
